Abstract

The following essay begins with the question on the significante of the form of instution in which teacher training takes place. Scientific approach and professional orientation and training are the essential claime, which qualify teacher training for a dissociation from university. These claims have recently been doubted in the 'Theses concerning Policies on Higher Education' of the Council of Science. The reasons for the doubts as well as the arguments against a transfer of teacher training are emphasized. Against this background three possible politico-educational strategies to reform teacher training become apparent: the administrative, the professional-political, and the strategy of policy consulting by experts.
