Abstract

The fifth-generation (5G) communication system was introduced in 2018 and has advantages such as high data transfer rates and very wide bandwidth. Microstrip antenna is an antenna that has advantages such as compact, low cost of fabrication and capable to work at high frequencies. However, microstrip antennas have disadvantages such as narrow bandwidth. This research discusses about improvement performance of the square microstrip antenna with the slot M and the inset that work at frequency of 15 GHz in order to increase the return loss and bandwidth. The results of this study showed an increase in the return loss of 73.2% and bandwidth of 15.1%.
