Abstract

It’s very important in the interpretation of the conventional chest radiography the use of a standard routine of analysis (semiology) and correct language (terminology). Using the terms presented in modern glossaries make communication easier between different healthcare providers and allow a more uniform evaluation and interpretation in the scientific research. In this text we’ve described the terms related to conventional chest radiography, including the patterns of high attenuation (e.g.: alveolar and interstitial opacities), low attenuation (e.g.: cysts and cavities) and extrapulmonary findings (e.g.: costophrenic angle obliteration, mediastinal enlargement).
