Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the opinions and suggestions of special education teachers working in Guidance and Research Centers regarding the educational evaluation and diagnosis processes of students with special needs under temporary protection status. Ten special education teachers working in provinces where individuals with temporary protection status live intensively participated in the research We used qualitative research method and collected data through semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed through content analysis using the MAXQDA 20 program. As a result of the analysis of the interviews, the teachers stated that they followed the same stages as the students who are Turkish citizens in the process of educational evaluation and diagnosis of students with special needs under temporary protection status. However, it has been observed that there are different applications according to RAMs. The participants stated that they had some problems in the educational evaluation and diagnosis process of students with special needs under temporary protection status and offered solutions to these problems. Based on the findings, the study offered various suggestions for educational evaluation and diagnosis processes
