Abstract

Tubal ligation is a common method of contraception, and pregnancy after this method of sterilization is uncommon. I here present a report of Tubal pregnancy after a Bilateral Tubal Ligation (BTL). A 38 -year-old Para 5=0 had bilateral tubal ligation after her last childbirth. She presented 5 years later with a history of lower abdominal pain and vomiting of three and one day duration respectively and had a laparotomy for a left tubal ectopic pregnancy. This finding suggests that tubal sterilization does not invariably confer infertility. Ectopic pregnancy must not be disregarded in women who have undergone tubal ligation, especially if two or more years have elapsed since the sterilization.
