Abstract

An investigation into the effect of butadiene-styrene block copolymer dilution with mineral oils has revealed that the variation of tensile and other properties with oil level is not monotonous. The observed changes were attributed to morphological transitions induced by diluting and assisted by the presence of oil. The determining factor for the onset of transitions seems to be the ratio between volume fractions of oil and polystyrene in the extended material. © 1984 IUPAC
