Abstract

Questionnaire data from 151 single mothers in central Ill are analyzed to determine characteristics of violence perpetrated by their children. Results indicate that 29% of the mothers responding had been assaulted by their children. Violent families contain more children than the nonviolent families, & the violent children's ages were closely spaced. Battered mothers also reported greater modeling of violence, & their children displayed more frequent & severe violence toward their mother. Clinical practice implications of these findings are discussed. 1 Chart, 12 References. Modified HA
