Abstract

Methionine synthase activity was measured in 11 placentae after section during which nitrous oxide had been used as an anaethetic agent, and compared with that from 20 placentae after normal vaginal delivery with no exposure to nitrous oxide. There was no significant difference in enzyme activity between the two series. © 1986 British Journal of Anaesthesia.
