Abstract

Objectives: Upper airway stimulation (UAS) is an alternative treatment option for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in patients with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) intolerance. The aim of the Adhere Registry is to collect retrospective and prospective outcomes from patients receiving UAS in United States and German institutions. Method(s): Patients with moderate to severe OSA, intolerant to CPAP, undergoing UAS implantation were included in this multicenter, observational registry. Baseline demographic and sleep study data were collected. Objective and subjective treatment outcomes, device and procedural adverse events, and patient and physician satisfaction were also reviewed. Result(s): The registry enrolled 478 patients between October 2016 and January 2018. Average Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI) decreased from 36.7 +/- 5.9 (median: 33) at baseline (n = 462) to 11.0 +/- 11.8 (median, 5.6) at the 12-month visit (P
