Abstract

The evaluation of the skin safety of three cosmetics, that is, Whitening essence, Moisturizing essence and Moisturizing pack for hypersensitive skin was conducted on 61 patients with contact dermatitis and atopic dermatitis. The patients were patch-tested with Whitening essence as is, Moisturizing essence as is and Moisturizing pack as is. White petrolatum and distilled water were also tested as controls. The irritation index of Sugai was ranged from 2.5 to 4.1 in all patients and the highest was 4.3 of moisturizing essence in patients with contact dermatitis. © 1997, Meeting of Osaka Dermatological Association.
