Abstract

The main motivation of this paper is the exploration of the different visions of concept quality of life, as much in its conceptualization as its measurement. An exercise of analysis on the convergence between theoretical positions has been done from the theory of Manfred Max-Neef, who also considers much of human needs and who is very precise in its definition. Its matrix of needs (combination of axiological, existential and satisfactory categories) is in addition, highly useful in the contrast of the studied indices. The matrix showed the coincidences and differences, inclusion and absences in the propose conceptualizations by some academic ones and allowed the comparative analysis of the dominions of different works from measurement of the concept. The majority of them focus to categories related to the material needs, in other words, they have only done the material measurement of the quality of life, excluding important elements that would allow one clearer vision of the term.
