Abstract
Usually, problems for a transversely isotropic half-space z≥0 are considered under the presumption that z = constant are the planes of isotropy. There seems to be no publications solving contact problems for a half-space x≥0. This is why we call these problems non-traditional.We first solve the Boussinesq problem for the half-space x≥0, and then use it for solution of several basic contact problems. The results are presented as single integrals over a unit circle. © The author 2011. Published by Oxford University Press. all rights reserved.
