Character Values Through Pupport Tradition In The Place Wahyu Panca Tunggal

Abstract

His study aims to (1) explain the meaning of the shadow puppets story in the play Wahyu Panca Tunggal, (2) explain the character values of the shadow puppets character in the play Wahyu Panca Tunggal, 3) find out the inculcation of character values in the students of through the shadow puppets tradition. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenometological approach, based on the philosophy of postpositivism. Data were obtained by means of observation, interviews and document studies with informants. The data validity technique uses triangulation. The data analysis technique uses qualitative data analysis that is inductive in nature, namely the analysis of processed data based on the data obtained. The results of the study show that: (1) the Wahyu Panca Tunggal puppets story has a very deep meaning, especially with Pancasila which means five precepts or five guidelines for human life in society and the state, the story is interesting and in accordance with the conditions of the times. ( 2) The character values of the puppets characters in the Wahyu Panca Tunggal play are illustrated by the Pendawa Lima characters, namely Puntadewa is honest and fair, Werkudara is firm, Janaka is humble and polite, Nakula and Sadewa are wise and fair in character. King Duryodhana describes a queen who is angry, dishonest with the people. Durna is cunning and mischievous. (3) The inculcation of character values in the students of, carried out through the shadow puppets tradition in the Wahyu Panca Tunggal play has a positive impact, this is indicated by the increasing character of students, for example, students always greet and say hello when they meet the teacher, be friendly to the teacher and friends. Students who initially lacked respect for teachers, now students have respect, and have an understanding and love for the local culture that exists, especially in puppets.
