Abstract

This study examines the role of local government policies in supporting sustainable economic growth through the UMKM Go-Digital program. The research highlights how digital transformation has become an essential strategy for strengthening micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) amidst rapid technological development and increasingly competitive market dynamics. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation to analyze policy implementation and its impacts. The findings show that local governments facilitate digital literacy training, strengthen digital infrastructure, and build collaborative partnerships with marketplaces, financial institutions, and technology providers. These initiatives have improved MSMEs’ digital capabilities, expanded market reach, and increased business competitiveness. Despite these achievements, several challenges remain, including uneven digital literacy, limited internet access, and insufficiently skilled mentors. The study concludes that UMKM Go-Digital is an effective policy instrument but requires continuous improvement in infrastructure and human resource capacity to achieve sustainable and inclusive economic development. The implications emphasize the need for integrated policymaking, cross-sector collaboration, and long-term digital empowerment strategies.
