Abstract
Examined the efficacy and related problems of 2 intervention programs for sisters with non-attendance at school. The programs were designed by Kobayashi et al (1989, 1993). Both cases originated and were perpetuated by domestic factors. The 11-yr-old girl returned to school in Japan after 7 sessions which extended over 2 mo and were divided into 2 time periods. The sessions included social skills training, instruction in academic skills, physical education, successive approximation of attending school, behavior modification at home, and parent guidance. The 14-yr-old returned to school in Japan after 29 sessions which had extended over 10 mo and were divided into 5 separate periods. The sessions were the same as for the 11-yr-old, except for social skills training and physical education. The results showed that the domestic factors affecting the problem were eliminated, and the children's attitudes toward school improved. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
