Abstract

Background of Study: Library science is an interesting field of study. So that in recent years many universities or institutes have opened library science study programs, one of which is the Institute of Islamic Studies in Tulungagung State which has opened Islamic library and information science study programs. In the last 3 years this study program has experienced a significant increase in student numbers. Purpose: The purpose of this article is to look at how students' expectations of library science are. Method: Then to see these objectives the quantitative explanatory approach method was used, namely describing and analyzing the influence of effort performance expectancy (E-P) indicators, performance outcome expectancy (P-O), and valence on library science expectations. Finding: The results of the research of the three indicators is that there is a significant influence on library science expectations as evidenced by p values <0.05. Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that students have high expectations of library science. So from these high expectations the manager in this case the study program required to improve its quality, both study spaces, teaching staff and laboratories.
