Abstract

AbstractIn wireless sensor network, the primary design is to savethe energy consumption as much as possible whileachieving the given task. Most of recent researches workshave only focused on the individual layer issues andignore the importance of inter working between differentlayers in a sensor network. In this paper, we use a cross-layer approach to propose an energy-efficient andextending the life time of the sensor network. Thisprotocol which uses routing in the network layer, and thedata scheduling in MAC layer. The main objective of thispaper is to provide a possible and flexible approach tosolve the conflicts between the requirements of large scale, long life-time, and multi-purpose wireless sensornetworks. This OEEXLM module gives betterperformance compared to all other existing protocols. Theperformance of OEEXLM module compared with S-MACand directed diffusion protocol.
