Abstract

In the era of increasingly developing digitalization, fintech payments have become one of the alternative payments widely used by MSMEs. However, transaction costs charged by fintech payment service providers can be an additional burden for business actors. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with MSME owners who use fintech payment services and direct observation. The data collected were analyzed to see the relationship between fintech payment transaction costs and MSME income. The results of the study indicate that fintech payment transaction costs do not have a significant effect on MSME income. Some MSMEs reported increased income due to the efficiency and ease of transactions offered by fintech payments, while others who faced challenges related to transaction costs did not have a significant impact and considered the transaction costs to be still within normal limits.
