Abstract
The objective of the study was to analyze the competitiveness factors in manufacturing SMEs in Colombia. It is important to highlight that SMEs to successfully face the conditions in a globalized and open world context, must be efficient, flexible and adaptable, for which, they must promote competitive advantages, which are achieved from the achievement of economies of scale in the production, distribution and marketing; Competitiveness, in addition to being considered as a concept that implies capacity, can be conceived as an indicator that measures said capacity. Methodologically, the study was developed under a quantitative approach, the type of research is descriptive, whose source of fundamental information was primary, being the instrument to obtain the data a questionnaire based on the application of a survey to a sample of 142 manufacturing companies in the city of Sincelejo-Colombia. The main result was that 63.4% of the companies analyzed are located at a low level of competitiveness, while only 31.7% are located at medium levels and only 4.1% present a superior result with a high level of competitiveness. It concludes on the need to strengthen the most important weak areas of these companies at a productive and commercial level, in the financial area, in the training of human and technological talent.
