Abstract

The binding of biotin to gold nanorods (Au-NRs) conjugated to neutravidin is accompanied by an increase in the fluorescence intensity of protein's tryptophan residues. Localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR), combined with the known affinity of streptavidin for biotin, led to the development of a high-sensitive enzyme activity assay.
