Abstract
This article is the fourth of a four-part series on the principles of gear lubrication and reviewing current knowledge of the field of gear tribology. The paper presents recommendations for selecting lubricant type, viscosity and application method. In addition, a case history is given which demonstrates many of the principles of gear lubrication.
