A simple technique for consistent microphone placement in voice recording

Abstract

In order for objective voice analysis to be valid and reliable, recording techniques must be consistent. Relatively minor differences in recording techniques of different subjects or multiple recordings of the same subject may introduce errors. A simple solution to the problem of maintaining a relatively constant distance between the subject's mouth and the recording microphone is presented. It involves the use of an inexpensive harmonica holder than can be obtained easily and inexpensively through music stores. © 1988 Raven Press, Ltd., New York.
