Abstract

This study aims to conceptualize ‘focus towards innovation’ as a team-level construct and develop a theoretically grounded and empirically robust mechanism to measure it within organizational settings. A rigorous multi-method design was used to develop and validate the team focus towards innovation (TFI) scale. Factor analysis on the analysis sample (n1 = 256) and validation sample (n2 = 216) were used to identify and validate the three-factorial structure of the TFI construct with sub-dimensions – inner focus, other focus, and outer focus towards innovation. This unique three-dimensional factor structure, and its item-level composition are the major contributions of this study
