Abstract

The article explores the intersection of civil rights and education policy for the Tucson Unified School District regarding the desegregation implications for Latino students in the school district. Topics discussed include decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in the case Brown v. Board of Education, need of policies combat structural discrimination in nation's schools and need of educational opportunity for students of color in minority-majority districts.
