This study aimed to describe the relationship between the main components of stress in 93 male and female competitive level athletes of judo. The participants filled out four forms: the Positiveand Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS); the Brief COPE (related to coping strategies); the PrimaryAppraisal Adjective Checklist (PAAC) and the Wrestling Coping Resources Questionnaire (WCRQ).The results showed a positive relationship between threat, damage, and negative affection, aswell as between challenge, benefit, and positive affection. We found a negative relationshipbetween secondary cognitive assessment and refusal strategies and behavioral divestment. Thisstudy confirmed the relationship between the components of the theory of Lazarus and Folkman
