Abstract
A technique is described for the precipitation of the bulk of the plasma proteins with caprylic (octanoic) acid without affecting IgG, ceruloplasmin, and part of the IgA. The contaminants can be removed from the supernatant solution by batch-adsorption on DEAE-cellulose and pure IgG is obtained in good yield. The technique has been used for human, horse, sheep, and rabbit plasma. © 1969.
