Abstract

Crowdsourcing - a new idea connected with the growth of digital media concerning participatory activities in which a person, institution, non-profit organization or business, proposes solving a problem of varying complexity by an elastic, open and voluntary commitment to a group of people of different knowledge. As a matter of fact, crowdsourcing may be treated as a modification and expansion of the social web into a virtual production platform of (usually free) services, which is accompanied with the myth of participation and democratization of the new media.
