Abstract

Pyrrole was polymerized and magnetized through a facile two-step method. Fe3+ acted as both an oxidant and a magnetic source in the reaction. The loss mechanism is discussed based on electromagnetic theory for different magnetized polypyrrole. It was found that the content of magnetic nanoparticles has a large influence on the absorption performance of the nanocomposite. This work might be an effective way to understand the balance between dielectric loss and magnetic loss in the practical application of electromagnetic wave absorption materials.
