Abstract

A simple method is described for fitting a rectangular hyperbola to force‐velocity data derived from active muscle. The approach is based on three‐dimensional regression analysis of the variables force, velocity and (force x velocity). The usage of the method is illustrated by practical applications. A pocket calculator is sufficient for the mathematical treatment. © 1994 The Physiological Society
