Abstract

In papermaking process the base paper is formed by starting from lowconcentration suspension. Depending on process stage different models can beutilized for better understanding and performance of the process. A shortgeneral overview of fluid dynamics related to papermaking process is given aswell as new approaches including fiber network modeling and continuum mechanicalfracture simulations. The fluid dynamical results presented illustrated somepaper machine wet end phenomena while the solid state modeling approaches can beexploited from drying section of a paper machine to the several convertingprocesses.
