Abstract

The (re)appearance of populisms over the last decade has been intense. Also, its political development, as shown by the proliferation of populist governments. The literature offers some hypotheses about the reasons for its emergence and growth. Some focus on the conditions leading up to their emergence. Others, in the relationship between demand-side and supplyside. Instead, an analytical model capable of integrating and connecting all these dimensions is lacking. The objective of this article is to enable a methodological model that allows to analyze in an interconnected and dynamic way the conditions that make the emergence and success (or failure) of populism possible.
