Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to reveal and interpret determination specifics of metacognitive factors that affect the mental burnout syndrome in a subject-subject professional activity class. Empirical part of the research combines two main and complementary levels. First, the analytical study level aimed to identify and interpret their particular relationships and interactions. Second, the structural study level aimed to identify features and peculiarities of a holistic organization of metacognitive factors as a complex determinant of management activity. According to the study issue, a set of research and psychodiagnostic techniques was applied. In particular, basic research and psychometric techniques developed in modern metacognitivism, and a number of private (individual) methods. Relationships between the level of development of metacognitive factors and the level of burnout syndrome were revealed (p<0,05). The article substantiates the position that the main factors of the metacognitive plan are significant determinants of the development and severity of the syndrome of mental burnout in professional activities belonging to the subject-subject class. The key role of means and mechanisms of the metacognitive structural organization as factors to determine the burnout syndrome was identified. The findings of the study discussed. The data analysis provide that between the degree of metacognitive support of the activity and the measure of representation of the syndrome of mental burnout can be established relations of compensatory type. There is not only a determinative effect of metacognitive factors for burnout syndrome development but also a significant inverse effect. It consists in the fact that with an increase in the severity of the syndrome of mental burnout, significant destruction of the entire set of metacognitive factors occurs, which in turn is a prerequisite for reducing the effectiveness of metacognitive regulation of activity and its efficient parameters.
