Abstract
This article summarizes the key foundations of France's African policy and its structural evolution over recent decades. It then assesses the outcome of French interventions in several African crises in recent years, as well as lessons that can be learned. It also attempts to clarify African policy convergence and divergence in France, the European Union, the United Kingdom and Germany. © De Boeck Université.
