Abstract

When a vehicle is developed, it is necessary and indispensable to consider ride comfort to say nothing of safety. Although there are some factors that influence ride comfort such as noise, humidity, temperature, view and light besides vibration, in this research, vibration is considered with ride comfort. In the research that had been done in the past, the evaluation was done by the acceleration of the seat and the floor. However, the ride comfort should be evaluated as a psychological response caused as a result of the head and the shoulder resonating by vibration inputted into the human body.In this study, I paid attention to brain waves in order to judge ride comfort as objective and physical quantity. Brain waves are classified into anger, pleasure, sadness and relax, and digitalized by the technique named ESAM. And the points of ride comfort are calculated from sensitivity elements. There are four patterns of graph how people feel the vibration, such as upper right type, parabola type, lower right type and constant type. I confirmed that there are some differences between the subjects how to feel the vibration.
