Abstract

Against the background of a new coronavirus pandemic, which once again revealed the shortcomings and inefficiency of the existing globalist development model, the socially oriented countries that heavily rely on an advanced public sector in planning their own economic growth proved themselves to be effective. Some attempts to lead the economy out of a permanent structural crisis by giving impetus to the social sphere have also begun to emerge in the West. The case of Spain is the most emblematic, because there the left-wing coalition government is trying to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in a harsh foreign and domestic political climate by widely introducing basic social protection instruments. In this sense, it is of particular interest to analyze the prospects for a possible further evolution of social policy.
