A New Generalization of Edelstein-Suzuki Type Fixed Point Theorem with Applications

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present a result on the existence of fixed points for a system of mappings which generalizes the results of Edelstein (J. London Math. Soc. 37 (1962), 7479), Suzuki (Nonlinear Anal. 71 (2009), 11, 53135317.), Matkowski (Bull.Acad.Polon.Physics. 21 (1973), 323324) and many others. As an application, we establish a result on the existence of common fixed points for two systems of mappings, which supports our main finding. In addition, we also have an example to validate our main finding.
