Abstract

Molecular dynamics computer simulations were executed to investigate a collapsing process of a single gas bubble in liquid, which is a relevant and elementary process of sonoluminescence. The system consists of Lennard-Jones liquid and a bubble containing gas of soft core particles. As the bubble shrinks after uniform compression of the system, sharp temperature rise is observed. The heat and mass transfer on the bubble surface is significant.
