Whilst it is definitively not a forecast, the paper does appraise future directions in space tourism. Practical implicationsFurther research is required in order to properly evaluate the value of space tourism to future human societies, and strategize accordingly. Originality/valueAs a source‐based review, the paper has limited originality, but shows the possibilities and limitations of tourism planning methods for space tourism.
