Abstract

Tests and studies reported indicate that the single plate connection can develop a significant end moment in the beam and supporting member. In order to evaluate the end moment generated by the single plate framing connection, the beam line method was used. This method consists of the construction of a ″beam line″ on a connection moment-rotation curve. The vertical axis intercept of the beam line is the beam fixed end moment, whereas the horizontal axis intercept of this rotation is the simple span end rotation of the beam.
