Abstract
According to Time-pressure drop curves measured at 1 100 degree to 1 300 degree C the pressure drop increases steeply to the maximum value, as the wustite and slag contained in pellets and sinters melt by heating and flow into the voids in a packed bed. When the MgO content increased from 0. 7 to 1. 3%, the maximum pressure drop decreased from 2000 to 700 mm Aq/10 cm. MgO concentrated in the magnetite and Ca-ferrite before reduction, and during reduction, made a solid solution with wustite having a higher melting point. 25
