Abstract
The development of "health technology and autonomy within the home" goes along with the political will to bring technological additions to existing assistance and care systems, which could privilege "living at home" in accordance with older people's expectations. however, the acceptance and adoption of such technology by older people are still problematic. The article seeks to analyse what is at stake and the acceptability conditions of new technology with regard to the "trials" of old age. © Fond. Nationale de Gérontologie.
