IMPLEMENTASI KEGIATAN EKSTRAKURIKULER KEPRAMUKAAN DALAM MEMBENTUK KARAKTER PEDULI LINGKUNGAN PADA SISWA SD NEGERI 36 BANDA ACEH

Abstract

Forming student character as contained in national education goals can be done through extracurricular activities. One of the mandatory extracurricular activities that must be organized by the education unit and that students must participate in is scouting. In extracurricular scouting activities there are ways to shape and make students' character better in elementary school, such as the character of caring for the environment. This research aims to determine the implementation of scouting extracurricular activities in forming environmentally caring character in students at SD Negeri 36 Banda Aceh. This research approach uses a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The subjects in this research were school principals, scout leaders or trainers and 70 grade IV, V, VI students who took part in scouting extracurricular activities. To obtain data, researchers used observation, interview and questionnaire data collection techniques. The data analysis technique is carried out in the stages of data reduction, data display and drawing conclusions and using a percentage form. The results of the research show that in the implementation of scouting extracurricular activities, scout leaders familiarize students with things that can shape and improve their environmentally caring character. Scout leaders also exemplify attitudes that care about the environment and provide material about the attitudes of a scout member, one of which is the attitude of caring for the environment as stated in the Dasa Dharma of Scouting. The scouting extracurricular activities carried out are also based on the scouting extracurricular activity program which contains the functions, principles and objectives of scouting extracurricular activities and is supported by several aspects such as forms of student participation, activity development and facilities/infrastructure provided by the school. It can be concluded that the implementation of scouting extracurricular activities can form an environmentally caring character in students at SD Negeri 36 Banda Aceh.
