Management and subjectivity in sus: Facing dilemmas in neoliberal times

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze processes of management and subjectivity in the Brazilian health system (SUS), based on the assumption that there are two distinct models. The first is that recommended by Health Reform, the second, of neoliberal design, is assumed by the private sector, but it affects the public health context, hindering progress in that scenario. Neoliberalism is discussed as a men government strategy, which has a policy of individualistic subjectivation. The propositions of the health movement of democratic government and solidary subjectivity are analyzed. We conclude that the solutions will not be performed exclusively from macropolitical arrangements, because they must involve the construction of effective management and subjectivity methods that allows individuals and collectives to reinvent themselves in a critical and supportive way.
