Abstract

Co-gasification of Prosopis juliflora with fibre reinforced plastic in a fluidized bed gasifier was investigated. Biomass gasification is the thermo-chemical reaction to convert the solid biomass to a gaseous fuel. To gasify the waste biomass Prosopis juliflora plus fibre reinforced plastic in a gasifier with a feed rate capacity of 5?kg/h and temperature of 750°C, an equivalence ratio of 0.24-0.44 was maintained. It was reported that when the gasifier was operated alone without accessories the conversion efficiency was lower. If the gasifier was operated with accessories, the flame temperature of producer gas got increased 3 times and the conversion efficiency was also high. The composition of producer gas also i.e. CO, CO2 and CH4 has been determined during running condition of gasifier.
