Abstract

The objective of this research was to verify the veracity of the information that the use of pesticides - brought about by the Green Revolution - is necessary to eliminate hunger on the planet and if the green revolution is in harmony with the Principle of Prohibition of Environmental Retraction. The methodology used was that of the deductive method: The means was used for the bibliographic research and for the purposes, the research was qualitative. The conclusion reached was that the use of agrochemicals in an indiscriminate manner has brought innumerable damages to the environment, causing environmental imbalance and the appearance of innumerable ills to the beings that inhabit the planet earth; so the green revolution, as conceived in Brazil, is at odds with the Principle of Prohibition of Environmental Retraction.
