Abstract

1 2 3 Tetsuo KIDOKORO, Hongwei HSIAO, Ryo FUKUDA This study aims at the verification of the hypothesis on the polarization to mega-city regions and urban divide with focus on gentrification in the Special Wards of Tokyo. Following the extensive literature review on gentrification, firstly, we analyzed the situation of gentrification and urban divide at the Ward level and applied the cluster analysis to further discuss the situation at a micro-level. Secondly, we shed light on the relation between local government policies on urban development/redevelopment and gentrification in Tokyo and found strong relationship between them. 23 23 (2020) 1) (Spatial Polarization) ()
