Abstract
The paper contributes to the debate on the future of social innovation (SI). The aim of the research was to determine the influence of the subsidy market leader on the valuation of IS by organizations participating in the PROO and NEWFIO competitions. The Stackenberg leadership model was used for this purpose. The research has shown that organisations applying for grants, in most cases, follow the leader, regardless of the competition that sets the price (maximum grant value) for SI. In the futere, use of game theory to describe the role of a leader allows for the strengthening and better adjustment of competition offers to future social and technological challenges, e.i. “Green Deal” for Industry 5.0.
