Peran Masyarakat Kandri dalam Mengembangkan Potensi Seni Pada Pariwisata di Desa Kandri Kecamatan Gunungpati Kota Semarang

Abstract

The advancement of techilogy is one of the causes of the failure of traditional arts. The community no longer has participatory nature in the arts and tends to be unterested in modern technologies such as television, cellphones, etc. Villages are longer a place to create art, but become a place foe technology exhibitions that smell of moderization. Since Kandri was established as a tourist village, preservation of traditional arts is certainly not solely the responsibility of the goverment, but also an obligation of all levels of society. The community plays an important role in the development of an art and of course the government must also provide support in efforts to develop and preserve an art that is owned by the community. Research of cconducted to determine the role of the Kandri community in providing support for the development of tourism in Kandri village. Qualitative research methods are used to obtain important data about the role of the public in developing the potential of art in tourism in the village of Kandri thruogh observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The exixtence of art in Kandri village strongly supports the development of tourism potential. New art are raised and old art is repackaged whit beautifully, involving various supporting components, to fulfillment of tourist needs.
