Abstract

The effect of the 4 chitin synthesis inhibitors diflubenzuron, penfluron, teflubenzuron and triflumuron on final-instar nymphs of the cotton pest Dysdercus koenigii was studied. It was observed that, of the 4 compounds, penfluron was the most effective chitin synthesis inhibitor against D. koenigii. The LD50s expressed in жg/nymph were found to be 0.269, 0.025, 0.112 and 0.35 g for diflubenzuron, penfluron, teflubenzuron and triflumuron, resp. The results of the study showed that chitin synthesis inhibitors possess high contact activity against D. koenigii.
