Abstract
The article begins with a discussion of the differences between urban sociology and the "Darmstadt Approach" to the intrinsic logic of the city. This is followed by an examination of whether the claim to refound urban sociology has been redeemed. Thereafter questions are formulated which need to be answered, even when the claim to found a new approach to the study of the urban is not upheld. The article concludes with some research perspectives.
